GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — Four people were injured, three seriously, early Saturday due to a pair of head-on crashes on Interstate 295 in Deptford, reports Daily Voice.
New Jersey State Police said the events unfolded on the northbound lanes at about 3:16 a.m.
An early investigation found that, for reasons still unknown, a Toyota SUV was disabled and facing south in the left northbound lane when it was hit head-on by a Honda SUV. Moments after, the Toyota Camry SUV was hit head-on a second time by a Toyota Camry that was traveling behind the Honda SUV.
Authorities said the driver of the Toyota SUV, a 38-year-old Blackwood man, suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the Honda SUV, 23, and a passenger in the Toyota Camry, 35, both of Philadelphia, were also seriously injured.
The driver of the Toyota Camry was said to have received minor injuries.
