ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A 22-year-old Bloomfield man died Tuesday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a car in south Glen Ridge, according to NJ.com.
The fatal collision occurred near the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and High Street at around 4:00 p.m.
Glen Ridge Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said the young man was operating a Yamaha YZF motorcycle when it was involved in a wreck with an Audi Q5.
The rider suffered “severe” injuries and was rushed to Newark’s University Hospital. At 4:45 p.m., he was pronounced deceased.
At this time, officials have not reported any pending charges against the other driver.
An investigation remains underway.
