PFD crews lift jitney bus off pinned pedestrian in Paterson

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A 53-year-old woman was rescued Wednesday night after being hit and pinned by a shuttle bus near downtown Paterson, according to Daily Voice.

The incident occurred on McBride Avenue, near Hoxey Street, along the Passaic River. It was first reported shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Officials have not shared details on the circumstances behind the crash, but the female pedestrian was struck by the bus and then trapped underneath the vehicle.

Four firefighters were able to quickly lift the vehicle and remove the victim.

The patient, who suffered severe injuries but was alert and conscious, was rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.

No one on the bus was reported hurt.

An investigation by the Paterson Police Department remains underway.
