ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver whose vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian last Wednesday in Atlantic City, reports Daily Voice.
Atlantic City Police said the incident occurred on the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 30 on March 1, at around 11:30 p.m.
The circumstances of the event were not immediately clear, but investigators confirmed the victim was hit by a driver in dark-blue 2012 Nissan Altima under Iowa registration LNB789.
The suspect vehicle is said to have sustained significant front-end damage near its passenger side, and is missing its passenger-side mirror. Officials said that any Nissan Altima of this description should be noted, as the suspect may have changed or removed license plates.
Anyone who has information on the vehicle or the driver is encouraged to call Detective Jennifer Burke with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-909-7684. The Atlantic City Police Department Traffic Division can also be reached at 609-347-5744.
