Overturned dump truck blocks all SB lanes of I-287 in Edison

EDISON, NJ – Major delays were reported on I-287 after a dump truck overturned near Edison on Wednesday afternoon.

According to NJ DoT, the truck overturned shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Exit 1 to US-1.

I-287 southbound all lanes closed North of Exit 1/Rt 1 in Edison due to overturned dump truck. Slow down, use caution, and expect delays.

It is unclear what caused the truck to overturn. However, all southbound lanes of the freeway were closed for some time afterward while crews worked to clear the scene.
