Motorcyclist hit, killed by reversing car in Monroe Township

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — A 36-year-old man died last Thursday, June 22, when he was truck by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle in Monroe Township, according to Daily Voice.

Monroe Police said the fatal incident occurred on the eastbound side of Lake Avenue, at around 10:08 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate the victim was operating a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound when a Mazda backed up out of a driveway and into his path. Despite trying to brake, the motorcycle skidded for for about 80 feet before overturning onto its side and striking the front driver’s side of the car.

The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. He has since been identified as Johnathan P. Oliver, of Williamstown.

Monroe Police said the driver of the Mazda, 27-year-old Kimberly J. Pacis, also of Williamstown, suffered minor injuries. It was unclear whether she was taken to a hospital.

It was not immediately clear whether any charges are expected to be filed. An investigation was underway.
