UNION COUNTY, NJ — A 39-year-old Springfield man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after crashing and overturning his car in Mountainside, according to local media.
Mountainside Police said the collision was reported near Summit Road and Heckel Drive. Officers responded to the scene at around 9:30 a.m.
Authorities did not disclose the sequence of events leading up to the crash, but the man was driving a 2021 Ford Mustang that rolled over.
The male driver, who was not reported hurt, declined medical attention from first responders. He was later arrested after a further investigation indicated he was impaired at the time of the crash.
No other vehicles appear to have been involved.
An investigation remains ongoing.
