OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP, NJ – The driver in Thursday’s fatal motorcycle accident is accused of driving while intoxicated and is facing a charge of vehicular homicide.
According to NJ.com, the driver, Sayreville man Jack Piatek, 27, was allegedly intoxicated when the late-night accident occurred. He has been issued summonses that include a DUI and has been taken into custody in the Middlesex County Correction Center for second-degree vehicular homicide.
The incident happened on Route 35 at about 11:50 p.m. near Industrial Drive, in Old Bridge Township.
The crash claimed the life of 36-year-old South Amboy woman Jessica Vinsko, who was ejected from the bike in the accident. She died at the scene of the crash.
Piatek was also ejected during the collision and was taken to the hospital for treatment prior to his arrest.
