MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A 29-year-old Bogota man died early Sunday after a collision on Interstate 80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, according to local media.

The accident occurred on the westbound lanes near mile marker 43.8 at around 2:41 a.m.

New Jersey State Police said the man was driving a Chevrolet Corvette when he entered I-80 westbound from the I-287 ramp. At one point, the Corvette was hit by a Lexus SUV.

Officials said the driver of the Corvette, who was ejected in the crash, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. His passenger was transported to Morristown Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

A passenger in the Lexus sustained minor injuries and was taken to Saint Claire’s Denville Hospital. The driver of the Lexus also suffered minor injuries, but declined medical treatment.

It remains unclear at this time which driver was at fault, but authorities continue to investigate.
