MERCER COUNTY, NJ — One person died Monday night after a single-vehicle crash in West Windsor Township that left six other people injured, two critically, reports Daily Voice.

West Windsor Police said the fatal wreck took place on Old Trenton Road, just west of Cubberley Road. Officers were dispatched to the scene for a rollover crash “with possible entrapment” at around 10:40 p.m.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder carrying seven occupants was heading westbound on a straight section of Old Trenton Road. Authorities said it was raining at the time, and the driver lost control of the vehicle under wet road conditions, causing the SUV to veer off the right side of the roadway. After rolling multiple times, the vehicle came to rest in the 1400 block of the road.

First responders arrived to find three of the seven occupants ejected from the Nissan. A 44-year-old victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The six surviving victims were rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with a range of injuries. As of Tuesday, June 27, two patients remain in critical condition.

Multiple local agencies, including “West Windsor Township Division of Fire & Emergency Services, Lawrence Township EMS, Robbinsville EMS, RWJ Ambulance, East Windsor EMS, and Capital Health Medics,” all responded to the crash site.

Officials with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office (SCRT) and the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office were handling the case.
