ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A woman drove her car all the way into a 7-Eleven store Thursday morning in East Orange after suffering a medical episode, according to local media.

East Orange Firefighters and other rescue crews were dispatched to the scene on Freeway Drive East, at around 8:30 a.m.

Authorities said the victim, who has a medical condition, was behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer when she appeared to have experienced an episode. Moments later, she lost control of the vehicle, which crashed through the store’s front entrance glass before coming to rest completely inside the business.

Despite significant damage to the building’s storefront, no pedestrians were hit or injured, and the female driver was also able to exit the vehicle without injuries.

An investigation into the incident was underway. No charges have been reported as of this writing.
