3 left seriously hurt after crash on I-295 in Deptford

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — Four people were injured, three seriously, early Saturday due to a pair of head-on crashes on Interstate 295 in Deptford, reports Daily Voice.

New Jersey State Police said the events unfolded on the northbound lanes at about 3:16 a.m.

An early investigation found that, for reasons still unknown, a Toyota SUV was disabled and facing south in the left northbound lane when it was hit head-on by a Honda SUV. Moments after, the Toyota Camry SUV was hit head-on a second time by a Toyota Camry that was traveling behind the Honda SUV.

Authorities said the driver of the Toyota SUV, a 38-year-old Blackwood man, suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the Honda SUV, 23, and a passenger in the Toyota Camry, 35, both of Philadelphia, were also seriously injured.

The driver of the Toyota Camry was said to have received minor injuries.

No further details have been shared at this time, and no charges have been filed. An investigation remains in progress.
