A two-vehicle collision on the intersection of Route 70 and Massachusetts Avenue Thursday morning, January 9 left three people with injuries.
According to police investigation, 47 year-old Melanie Pierciey from Bayville was driving west on Route 70 when she made a left turn towards Massachussets Avenue, coming into the path of the vehicle driven by 41 year-old Alexander Robinson from Barnegat.
Pierciey, Robinson and an unidentified passenger from Robinson’s vehicle all sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment and further observation.
Pierciey was issued a summons for failure to yield at an intersection.

Vehicular Accidents

We urge drivers to observe and follow the laws while driving, and to remain focused while driving so that they can react accordingly to situations that may suddenly pop up on the roadway. Drivers should be more careful when driving while visibility is low, and they should also check their car before going on the roadway. Being more diligent and prepared can help lessen accidents on the roads of New Jersey.
