SALEM COUNTY, NJ — A 26-year-old Penns Grove man was fatally injured Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Carneys Point, according to NJ.com.

Carneys Point Police said the accident occurred on Shell Road (U.S. Route 130) on April 29, at about 2:15 p.m.

Preliminary details show the man was operating a motorcycle that was traveling behind a pickup truck driven by a 22-year-old Carneys Point resident. At one point, the pickup truck slowed in anticipation of a left turn. The motorcyclist, who had been passing multiple other vehicles in a no-passing zone, attempted to pass the pickup but hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Emergency responders rushed the rider to Salem Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Authorities said the driver of the pickup was not reported injured.

No other information has been provided at this time, but an investigation was in progress.
