BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A box truck struck a tree Wednesday morning, setting off a chain-reaction that caused a residential garage to catch fire in Cresskill, reports Daily Voice.
The incident took place on Madison Avenue at the intersection with 8th Street, just after 9;30 a.m.
Authorities said a man was driving a Woodland Park box truck when the vehicle collided with a tree. The impact caused branches of the tree to hit wires, which energized part of a garage of a nearby residence.
A photo taken at the scene shows some damage to the exterior of structure, but no serious injuries were reported. Cresskill fire crews were also able to contain the flames with 20 minutes from their arrival on the scene.
It remains unclear what caused the crash, but no charges have been reported at this time.
