NEWARK, NJ – A major collision near the Newark Liberty International Airport Saturday clamed the lives of 4 people and left one in critical condition.
According to WABC, the collision occurred shortly after 4:20 a.m. near the intersection of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Evergreen Avenue.
Witnesses told police one vehicle slammed into another. The impact sent both vehicles crashing into a nearby tractor trailer.
Four unidentified victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A fifth person was rushed to University Hospital in critical condition.
