Woman intentionally hit by car in Jersey City’s West Side

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A woman was hospitalized early Sunday after being struck by a vehicle during a domestic violence incident in Jersey City’s West Side, reports local media.

Jersey City Police responded to the scene in the 20 block of Wallis Avenue shortly after 12:39 a.m.

The events leading up to the crash remain unclear, but authorities learned the woman’s boyfriend was behind the wheel of the striking vehicle.

EMS personnel transported the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, to Jersey City Medical Center.

The male driver was arrested and has since been charged with aggravated assault.

No further details have been disclosed, but an investigation remains in progress.
