RED BANK, NJ (MONMOUTH COUNTY) – A woman was hit and killed near Red Bank yesterday morning by an NJ Transit train bound for Penn Station, according to a report by the Atlantic Daily Voice.
The crash happened at 8:10 a.m. near the Red Bank train station, a few minutes after NJ Coastline Train number 7216 had left the station at Long Branch. The train collided with a pedestrian, resulting in her death.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
The pedestrian has yet to be publicly identified.
The accident caused train service in the area to be suspended for some time.
