MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A 49-year-old woman from Jersey Shore died Tuesday afternoon after a single-vehicle wreck on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean Township, according to Daily Voice.
New Jersey State Police said the fatal accident happened on the northbound parkway at about 1:05 p.m.
A preliminary investigation found the woman was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer northbound, when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle hit the left guardrail and veered off the roadway. It then traveled down an embankment, rolled, and collided with several trees.
The female driver was pronounced deceased, confirmed officials.
NJSP had the left northbound lane blocked for about four hours during the response, which created moderate delays.
No further information has been released, but an investigation remains in progress.
