Woman dies after crash at Plumsted Township intersection

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — A 59-year-old Browns Mills woman died Friday evening after a two-vehicle crash on County Road 539 in Plumsted Township, reports Daily Voice.

The fatal collision occurred at the intersection with Long Swamp Road, in the New Egypt area, at around 5:48 p.m.

According to police, the woman was driving a 2013 Volvo when the vehicle entered the intersection and was hit by a southbound 2021 Silver Nissan driven by a 40-year-old man from Princeton.

First responders transported the man to Jersey Shore Trauma and the woman to Monmouth Medical southern campus. Officials confirmed the woman later succumbed to her injuries.

No additional information has been provided at this time, as an investigation remains ongoing.
