Violent taxi passenger causes Clifton rollover crash

CLIFTON, NJ – A taxi cab driver lost control and crashed after a violent passenger attempted to rob him from the backseat, according to Daily Voice.

The driver was taking a 20-year-old man from Manhattan to Montclair using Route 3 in Clifton at about 4 a.m. on Monday. The passenger, Jordan White, convinced the driver top open the partition then demanded the driver’s phone and wallet.

The driver refused and the passenger used a box cutter to stab and cut the driver.

The driver lost control and the car overturned, rolling near the woods along the roadway.

White fled the scene but was soon apprehended.

Authorities also responded to the crash scene and transported the driver to a local hospital.

White was injured when police took him into custody. He was also taken to a local hospital for treatment and is now being held at the Passaic County Jail.
