BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 19-year-old Hackensack resident has been identified as the driver who died after a crash early Thursday off Route 17 in Carlstadt, according to Daily Voice.

The high-speed collision occurred on the northbound side of NJ-17 near Carlstadt Ice at around 3:30 a.m.

Authorities said the teen was behind the wheel of a 2009 Toyota Camry that veered off the roadway and struck a vacant ice truck that was parked in the lot of the business.

The impact of the crash, which caused the Camry to erupt into flames, killed the teen driver at the scene. After his family was notified, the teen was publicly identified as Ibrahim S. Campbell.

No other injuries were reported.

The right lane from Paterson Plank Road to Moonachie Avenue was blocked off as crews worked to clear the scene.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Fatal Accident Investigations Unit, along with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification, were both on the scene to investigate. Few other details have been released, but officials said no skid marks were found at the site.
