Two women injured in early-morning Newark hit-and-run

NEWARK, NJ – Two women were taken to the hospital after a hit-and-run accident in the South Ward early this morning.

According to local news sources, the accident happened just before 4 a.m. near the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Murray Street when the victims crashed their car into a pole. Another vehicle collided with them, then fled the scene.

The two victims were taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
