Two injured in tractor-trailer crash in Upper Saddle River

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ – A tractor-trailer in Upper Saddle River injured two early Monday morning by spilling a load of drywall that hit a passenger vehicle, reports Daily Voice.

According to officials, around 4:00am a tractor-trailer swerved, hit a median, and tipped a load of drywall off the trailer, causing another tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle to run into the drywall on the southbound side of the highway. The crash occurred on Route 17 between Pleasant Avenue and and East Allendale Road.

Two people in the passenger vehicle were taken to Hackensack Medical Center with minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer claimed that he had been cut off, causing him to swerve.

The northbound lanes reopened about an hour and a half after the crash, whereas the southbound lanes opened about 4 hours later.
