SALEM COUNTY, NJ — Significant structure damage was reported Tuesday evening after a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 295 in Carneys Point, according to Daily Voice.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes near milepost 1.7, at the Hawks Bridge Road overpass, at about 5:00 p.m.

New Jersey State Police said an oversized forklift was being towed by a Kenworth tractor-trailer when it collided with the underside of the bridge.

The driver was not reported hurt, but the overpass sustained extensive damage.

Authorities had all northbound traffic diverted onto Route 130 and the New Jersey Turnpike during the response and investigation.
