PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured Saturday, June 24, when his bicycle collided with a moving vehicle at a Clifton intersection, according to local media.
Clifton Police said the incident took place in the area of 5th Avenue and West 2nd Street at around 8:30 p.m.
Preliminary details show the boy was riding a bike on 5th Avenue when he approached the intersection with W. 2nd Street and was hit by a car. The impact of the crash caused the boy to eject from the bike.
Authorities said the driver immediately stopped and got out to render aid to the victim before first responders arrived and took over shortly after.
The teen was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
No other information has been provided at this time, but the Clifton Police Traffic Division continues to investigate the event. No charges have been reported as of this writing.
