ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ – A motorist was killed when his SUV crashed head-on with a school bus in Galloway on Wednesday morning.
According to Nj.com, a 33-year-old Galloway driver was headed north on Pitney Road in his 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander. At about 7:10 a.m., he collided with an oncoming 2019 Thomas Built School Bus between the intersection with South Quail Hill Boulevard and Collins Road. It is unclear how the vehicles came to be at each other in the same lane.
The Outlander landed in some trees off the road due to the force of the collision. The driver, Thomas Malinowski, died at the scene.
The school was carrying the 53-year-old driver and two school children. They were not injured.
The accident remained under investigation.
