MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – A car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in Milltown injured several people in the early morning hours of Thursday.
According to NJ.com, the accident happened in the inner lanes of the Turnpike at about 4:30 a.m. near Exit 9.
Two people were ejected from their vehicle and a helicopter was called to the scene. One person died in the accident. Further details about the victims have not been released.
Police closed the inner lanes for an investigation on Thursday morning and drivers headed southbound near Exit 9 were backed up for 11 miles.
