Scotch Plains man dead after crashing into sign support on GSP

TINTON FALLS, NJ (MONMOUTH COUNTY) – A man from Scotch Plains died in a collision late last night on the Garden State Parkway in the Tinton Falls area, according to the Daily Voice.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the GSP at around 11:45 p.m., after the driver of a Chevrolet Impala, a 34-year-old man from Scotch Plains, crashed into multiple “fixed objects.”

The impact sent the Impala into the grassy median, where it crashed into an overhead sign support and then burst into flames.

Despite attempts at CPR, the victim was pronounced dead after the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
