MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — One person was left hurt Wednesday morning after a school bus lost control and crashed into a home in Edison, reports local media.
Edison Police said the wreck unfolded on a span of Rahway Road at around 8:15 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate that the bus’s brakes failed, causing it to lose control, run off the roadway. The driver appeared to steer the bus over a small field to avoid striking nearby homes, but the vehicle ultimately hit the side of a home.
Officials said though no one was home at the time of the crash, one person suffered an ankle injury. It was unclear whether the injured person was on the bus or was among the cleaning crew of three who was on the other side of the house.
An investigation remains open and ongoing.
