MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — One person suffered serious injuries Monday morning as a result of a pedestrian crash on U.S. Route 1 in North Brunswick, reports local media.
North Brunswick Police said the incident occurred on the northbound side of US-1 near Finnegans Lane, just before 3:55 a.m.
The circumstances of the event were not immediately specified, but officers and EMS personnel arrived on the scene to find the victim lying on the roadway and with serious injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where they were listed in serious condition.
No one else was reported hurt following the crash, but authorities have not released any information on the involved driver or vehicle.
All lanes of US-1 were closed for an investigation, which remains underway.
