ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A 41-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday after being struck by a vehicle while working at a car wash in Verona, according to Daily Voice.
Verona Police responded to the scene at Quality Car Wash, located on Bloomfield Avenue.
Authorities said an elderly Bayville driver in a Cadillac veered off the roadway and onto the driveway of the business, where the vehicle struck the victim, who was in a work capacity.
According to police, the impact of the crash sent the victim about 50 feet. The vehicle also went on to strike an SUV, another sedan, and then a utility pole.
First responders rushed the worker to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, where he was admitted to the ICU. The driver, who sustained moderate injuries, was also taken to the hospital.
An investigation remains ongoing, and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified of the incident.
