MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — One person was critically injured late Saturday night due to a pedestrian collision on Route 27 in New Brunswick, reports local media.
The incident took place near the busy intersection with Quentin Avenue at about 11:47 p.m.
While the circumstances of the event remain under investigation, first responders quickly arrived on the scene to find the victim lying in the roadway with severe injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
The pedestrian, whose identity remains undisclosed at this time, was rushed to a local hospital, where they remained in critical condition as of Sunday morning.
As of this writing, no information on the driver or striking vehicle has been made available.
An investigation by the New Brunswick Police Department remains open and ongoing.
