Person fatally hit by vehicle on US-130 in Edgewater Park

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — One person died Wednesday night after a pedestrian collision on U.S. Highway 130 in southwest Edgewater Park, according to local media.

The fatal incident took place in the area of 4259 US-130. Edgewater Police and first responders were called to the scene at about 8:10 p.m.

While the circumstances of the event were not immediately clear, authorities arrived to find the victim lying on the ground and suffering from severe injuries after having been struck by a vehicle.

Officials confirmed the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation had part of the highway blocked off during the response.

It remains unclear whether the driver remained at the scene. No charges have been reported at this time, as an investigation remains underway.
