SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — One person died early Thursday morning after a pedestrian crash on Interstate 287 in Bridgewater Township, reports local media.
New Jersey State Police were called to the scene on the southbound interstate at about 2:40 a.m.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the incident, but troopers arrived to find the pedestrian severely injured. Medical personnel later pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
At this time, authorities have not released any information on the victim or the driver. It is unknown to the public whether the event was a hit-and-run, and no charges have been reported.
The NJSP continues to investigate.
