Pedestrian fatally hit by SUV on ACEX in Hamilton Township

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — A 28-year-old Philadelphia man died Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on the Atlantic City Expressway in Hamilton Township, according to Daily Voice.

The fatal incident occurred on the westbound lanes near milepost 22.8, west of Weymouth Road, at about 10:05 p.m.

New Jersey State Police said the male pedestrian was in the left lane when he was hit by a Toyota Rav4 SUV driven by a 25-year-old Egg Harbor City man.

Officials confirmed the victim, a Pennsylvania resident, died as a result of his injuries.

The driver and his passenger were not reported hurt.

It remains unclear at this time whether charges are expected to be filed.

An investigation remains underway.
