CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — A 58-year-old woman was fatally injured late Monday when she was hit by a vehicle on Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township, reports Daily Voice.

The incident occurred in the 800 block of the road, between Almonesson Road and Route 42, at around 10:28 p.m. Gloucester Township Police responded to the scene shortly after receiving a call about a pedestrian lying in the roadway.

After the striking vehicle fled the scene, a number of passing drivers stopped and stayed with the victim until first responders arrived. The victim was then rushed to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
