Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle in Brick Township

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Authorities responded to a fatal pedestrian crash late Wednesday in south Brick Township, according to local media.

The incident occurred in the 200 block of Brick Boulevard, shortly before 10:50 p.m.

Ocean County officials have not disclosed the circumstances of the event, but first responders arrived on the scene to find the pedestrian lying on the ground, severely injured, after having been struck by a vehicle.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No identifying information has been shared at this time.

It remains unclear whether the driver stayed after the crash or fled the scene.

An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the crash.
