Pedestrian crash in Linden seriously injures 1

LINDEN, NJ – Shore News Network reports that an elderly pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured while crossing the street in Linden on Tuesday.

Authorities say the crash took place just before 6:45 p.m. in the 300 block of South Wood Avenue. An unidentified 71-year-old man was crossing South Wood Avenue when he was struck by a driver of a 2004 Nissan Maxima.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the impact and was taken to Newark University Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Nissan was uninjured.

The Linden Police Traffic Bureau continues to investigate this incident.
