PATERSON, NJ –Authorities apprehended a wrong-way driver after a chase and crash on Saturday night, according to Newsbreak.com.
Two Paterson detectives began a chase after a car ran a stop sign at the intersection of Godwin Avenue and Carroll Street about an hour before midnight on Saturday. The Chevrolet Malibu turned the wrong way down Fair Street then on to Rosa Parks Boulevard and crashed into another vehicle.
Damond King, the Chevy’s driver, bailed out of the vehicle, threw away a gun, then attempted to climb through the basement window of a Fair Street home.
Police apprehended the ex-con and recovered the weapon he has discarded.
King is facing various charges including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
