Passenger seriously hurt as SUV hits pole near Hawthorne

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — One person was seriously injured early Monday in a single-vehicle crash near the Fair Law-Hawthorne border, according to Daily Voice.

The accident took place along the BP station in the area of the Lincoln Avenue bridge and Wagaraw Road, at about 1:00 a.m.

Authorities did not say what caused the crash, but a Honda CR-V collided with a pole.

A passenger in the SUV was left trapped and had to be extricated from the wreckage. The patient was then transported by members of the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

One other occupant, a woman, also suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear whether she had to be taken to a hospital.

Crews had to tow the SUV from the scene, suggesting significant vehicle damage.

No other details have been provided at this time.
