According to Nutley officials, the incident began inside a Carvel Ice Cream shop on on Franklin Ave on April 21. Michael Morrison,55, reportedly shouted, “You’re a terrorist,” and “I’m going to kill you” at the woman and her 16-year-old son.
After leaving the business, the mother and son were at a stop sign near Nutley High School when Morrison, who had apparently been following them, rammed his SUV into the driver’s side of the victim’s car.
Morrison was later arrested at his home and is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, making terroristic threats, Bias Intimidation, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of weapon.
Morrison currently remains in custody. Investigations are ongoing.
