ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A man was hospitalized Friday evening after a motorcycle accident in southwest Belleville, according to local media.
The wreck occurred near the corner of Franklin Avenue and Mill Street, just west of Belleville Park. Belleville Police responded to the scene at around 5:27 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but officers and EMS personnel arrived to find the rider, who had ejected from the motorcycle, lying on the roadway and suffering from major injuries.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital. No updates on his condition have been shared, but officials said he is expected to make a recovery.
No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles appear to have been involved.
An investigation by the Belleville Police Department remains ongoing.
