Motorcyclist dies after crash with car in Jersey City

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — One person died Sunday evening after their motorcycle collided with another vehicle in the Bergen Section of Jersey City, according to local media.

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Highland Avenue, at about 8:40 p.m. Jersey City Police and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly after.

Authorities have not specified the events leading up to the wreck, but preliminary details indicate the victim was operating a motorcycle that collided with a car.

The rider, who ejected from the bike in the impact of the crash, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other major injuries were reported.

An investigation by local police and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office was underway.
