MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A 40-year-old Jackson Township resident died early Sunday after a motorcycle accident in northeast Howell Township, reports local media.
The fatal wreck occurred off the southbound side of Manassa Road at around 12:37 a.m.
According to the Howell Township Police Department, the victim was operating a motorcycle southbound on the road, when, for reasons still being investigated, the bike veered off the roadway. Moments later, it struck a utility pole, fatally injuring the victim.
No other vehicles appear to have been involved, and no other injuries were reported in the event.
Authorities have not released further information, but the department’s Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate.
