OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — A 49-year-old Bayville man died Monday evening after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on U.S. Route 9 in Forked River, reports Daily Voice.
The fatal wreck occurred near the Sunrise Plaza shopping center shortly before 6:00 p.m.
According to Lacey Township police, the man was riding a motorcycle northbound on Route 9 at the same time a 55-year-old woman was driving another vehicle southbound. As the woman turned left into the shopping center, her vehicle collided with the motorcycle.
The rider, a lifetime member of the Bayville First Aid Squad, succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash.
Multiple agencies, including Lacey Township EMS, RWJ Paramedics, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit, responded to the scene.
An investigation remains ongoing. At this time, no pending charges have been reported.
