HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 32-year-old man from west New York died Sunday night after a motorcycle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in Secaucus, reports local media.
New Jersey State Police said the fatal wreck occurred on the turnpike’s southbound ramp at mile marker 112.4, near Secaucus Road.
According to a preliminary investigation, the man was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound when, for reasons still unspecified, the bike struck a concrete barrier.
The victim, identified as Edwin A. Castaneda, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased, confirmed NJSP. Officials did not say whether he died at the scene or at a hospital.
An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
