Medical episode leads to fatal crash in Fair Lawn

>
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – The victim of a fatal Fair Lawn car accident is believed to have suffered a medical episode before crashing on Monday evening.

According to Daily Voice, the 61-year-old victim was driving a black Jeep on Saddle River Road when she crashed at about 6:30 p.m. near Fair Lawn Avenue. The Jeep slammed into a utility pole before crashing through a fence and hitting a tree.

The victim died at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle. Her identity has been withheld pending the notification of family.

A sedan was damaged when the box on the utility pole went flying in the crash. The driver of the sedan went to an area hospital to be evaluated but appeared fine.

Investigators believe that a medical episode may be what caused the Jeep’s driver to lose control but the accident is still under investigation.
