The fire broke out shortly before 3:30 a.m. inside a home in the teens block of Essex Avenue.
The two and a half story home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. When fire crews entered the home, they found two severely injured occupants.
The two individuals were transported to University Hospital in Newark.
Later throughout the extinguishing, a third severely burned occupant was found by firefighters.
The fire was under control in about an hour.
