SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — A 62-year-old Ocean County man died early Wednesday after a heavy machinery accident at a Hillsborough worksite, according to Daily Voice.
Hillsborough Township Police responded to the scene of the fatal incident on Willow Road at about 7:25 a.m.
Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances of the event, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the site. Though the cause and manner of his death are still being investigated, preliminary details indicate it was the result of a workplace accident.
The incident prompted a response from multiple agencies, including the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s office. The OSHA Safety and Compliance Enforcement Officer was also called to the site.
